The parade is setting up in the street.
This is the best moment to manage to get some shots before they start to move. The place isn’t crowdy yet and while spectators are taking places on the street side I can find my way within the participants to capture portraits and situation much more easily than after while on the move.

Nice pictures!
Is this the Ching Ay Parade?
Singapore’s going to have this parade, too, on 12th February, 2011.
I read it from the Strait Times Newspaper (online).

Hi! No it wasn’t. Just the Chinese new year Parade in Chinatown Paris, with various groups in costume representing mainly Chinese, vitnamese, Thai & Cambodian communities of the city.
I didn’t ever see any Chin Ay mention within.
